Susan Thompson, Medical Aesthetician

Susan Thompson brings knowledge, maturity, experience and a good sense of humor to her position as Dr. Magilke's Medical Aesthetician. Being in the top of her class as a Baby Boomer, Susan understands the stages of facial aging and what works and what doesn't when it comes to skin care procedures and products.

Susan received her aesthetic training from the Advanced Skin Care Training Center in San Francisco and from U.C.L.A.'s Cosmetic Chemistry program. She holds advanced certification in the Dr. Vodder method of Manual Lymphatic Drainage, a gentle facial massage technique that reduces surgical recovery time. Susan attends professional aesthetic workshops and has lectured on treatments for aging skin, most recently at the annual meeting of the Nurse Practitioners of Oregon.

Prior to her career in medical aesthetics, Susan was a Massage Therapist and, for twenty-five years, a librarian and information manager for such institutions as Purdue University, CalTech and the Oregon Historical Society. She holds a Bachelors degree in History from the University of Southern California and a Masters degree in Library Science from the University of Oregon. Susan, her husband Robert and their four cats live in the Overlook area of North Portland.

Karen

Karen McConnell is our patient care coordinator, and assists Dr. Magilke during surgery. She is a reliable, friendly, caring contact who guides patients through the treatment process. She's the person with "all the answers."

Melody

Melody Wolf is our Registered Nurse with over 30 years experience. She maintains the operating room and provides care during surgery. She is a calming voice of experience that comforts patients.

Mat

Mat Cornwell is our business coordinator, and is a great contact for patients to call with financial concerns. He also maintains the computer systems, inventories and many other "behind the scenes" aspect of the practice.

Carol

Carol Morris is our front office assistant. She is a friendly, knowledgeable person who greets patients on the phone and in person. Carol also assists in creating informational materials about the clinic.
