Intense Pulsed Light (IPL™)
Your face is under constant attack from the sun. Depending on your exposure, you may develop brown spots and broken vessels. When you start needing make-up to cover up lesions, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatments can help.
IPL uses light energy to fade brown spots and exposed vessels on the face, neck, chest and hands. Since these lesions are often associated with aging, IPL is a great way to maintain a youthful appearance.
Are you a candidate?
Some signs to look for that may make you a candidate for Intense Pulsed Light treatment:
- Your face has or had excessive sun exposure resulting in brown spots or a "mottled" appearance.
- You have small exposed vessels under the skin, often called "spider veins" or "telangectasias."
- You have rosacea.
- Your skin tone is "uneven."
Results to expect:
After each of your treatments, pigmented lesions typically become darker and gradually work their way to the skin surface - where they "flake off." Within a week to 10 days, you will see fewer "spots."
Most people notice an improvement with each treatment, but it can take several treatments to reach your final goal - particularly in sun-damaged skin.
Your superficial vessels contract and fade with each treatment.
